Valerie & Deb will protect education in NC

Valerie Foushee and Deb McManus are two members of our 2012 slate who are especially passionate about education – and their years of experience on their local school boards make them the experts we need in Raleigh. Team Lillian - now is the time for Earline & Kerry

Today just three members out of 50 in the Senate are pro-choice Democratic women, and one of them is retiring. The GOP's attacks on NC women have taken their toll, and we've fallen far behind on women's representation in comparison to the other states. We're committed to helping NC Senate candidates Rep. Earline Parmon and Kerry Sutton change that statistic with your help.

Announcing the winners of the 2012 Courage Award

Many of you expressed your gratitude in nominations for this year’s Lillian’s List Courage Award, which will be presented at our 2012 Campaign Kickoff luncheon. The decision was a difficult one – so difficult we chose for the first time to give the award to two recipients! Congratulations to Sen. Linda Garrou and Rep. Jennifer Weiss, two women who have shown so much courage for the people of North Carolina and have worked tirelessly to protect our progressive values. Both legislators have been strong supporters of Lillian’s List and mentors to other pro-choice Democratic women in the legislature. Learn more

The pipeline - message from Mecklenburg County Commissioner Jennifer Watson Roberts

Although women make up more than half the population, often our voices aren’t at the table when important decisions are made. Supporting Lillian’s List is one way I work to change this imbalance, giving more pro-choice, Democratic women across our state the training and support that it takes to win campaigns.
