Undergrad students: join us in Raleigh this summer! We're taking applications for summer internships through Friday, April 27. Lillian’s List interns will build a variety of marketable skills in nonprofit fundraising and development, campaign finance and strategy, event planning and political communications. Many of you expressed your gratitude in nominations for this year’s Lillian’s List Courage Award, which will be presented at our 2012 Campaign Kickoff luncheon. The decision was a difficult one – so difficult we chose for the first time to give the award to two recipients! Congratulations to Sen. Linda Garrou and Rep. Jennifer Weiss, two women who have shown so much courage for the people of North Carolina and have worked tirelessly to protect our progressive values. Although women make up more than half the population, often our voices aren’t at the table when important decisions are made. Supporting Lillian’s List is one way I work to change this imbalance, giving more pro-choice, Democratic women across our state the training and support that it takes to win campaigns.
